Whether you’re a fan of international travel or not, most people can agree that there is something really fun & special about a staycation. The UK offers up so many holiday and travel options, which means that there’s something for everyone – here are some tips on ways to make your staycation as fun as possible.
Pack The Right Things
If you’re travelling via car then the temptation can be to fill the boot with EVERYTHING you might need & then some. Whilst this sometimes works out most of the time you’re left carting around items from home that you didn’t need to take with you. Instead, consider the type of holiday you’re going on, where you are staying and what you might need while you’re there. For example, caravan holidays in Cornwall probably require a suitcase full of different things than a city break in London.
Do Some Research
The UK has so much to see and do, so researching beforehand can help you to get the most out of your holiday. Look at places to visit nearby, local events that might be happening and even what restaurants you might want to eat at. You don’t necessarily need to set a strict schedule but just having an idea of things to do while you are there can really help – especially backup plans for rainy days!
Get Organised
There are some occasions where getting organised and planning something in advance can help. For example, some tourist attractions require you to book in advance, get booked up quickly or give you a discount for booking early. In these cases, it’s often worth setting aside a day on your holiday that the activity can be planned to make sure you don’t miss out.
Wing It
As much as researching things and booking certain activities in advance can help your staycation run smoothly, it’s definitely worth going with the flow & winging it on some occasions. By not having plans and just seeing what happens, you can’t be stressed when things aren’t going to plan. Instead, head off on your staycation and see what adventures your holiday in the UK brings you.
Plan the things that need planning, have an idea of what you would like to do/see while you are there & then just get on with having a good time seeing more of what the UK has to offer.
If you have any tips on how to make a staycation as fun as possible we’d love you to share them
