If you’re trying to be fitter and move your body a little more then reaching 10k steps every day might be one way to get there – and it’s not a bad one! Of course, always check with your doctor and work towards your own goals but if that’s your aim then here are some easy ways to reach your 10k step count.

Go For Those Small Wins

If you concentrate on 10k then this can seem overwhelming and you can be left feeling as though you’ll never get there. Instead, set yourself smaller goals that are more achievable – so you get that buzz of smashing your goals and this helps motivate you to the end result. This could be doing X number of steps before lunch or taking the stairs at work every time instead of the lift – anything that helps motivate you throughout the day has to be a good thing.

Make it a Team Effort

It can be hard to do things along, so rope in friends and family to help and support you. They might not be step counting but perhaps you could walk the dogs together or enjoy a stomp through the woods at the weekend? Anything that helps to make it fun & gives you a push to get out there and do your steps is a positive.

Seek Support

There are plenty of people in your position and seeking them out for motivation and support is a great way to help you stay motivated. By talking to others about your goals and celebrating your success, you also can talk to them when things are tough and you’re not feeling motivated. That can often be the boost you need to get off the sofa and get out walking – and help you reach your 10k step count target.

If you have any tips for how to reach your 10k step count we’d love to hear them!
