A Suitable Workspace

Let’s face it, working from your settee isn’t ideal, but it’s where some of us have ended up when working from home. It’s uncomfortable to spend extended periods sitting on seating designed to relax, not to provide a suitable location for using a computer or laptop. Working from the kitchen is just as fraught, so being fortunate enough to be invited to try out a height-adjustable desk from Flexispot has helped immensely.

Not being used to sitting for extended periods has posed painful back issues to be evident and the Flexispot adjustable height desk has shown me how much of a difference a flexible desk can make to your comfort and productivity. No longer am I struggling to keep focus sitting uncomfortably on the sofa with a hot laptop on my legs. Although you would think that working from home meant a break could be taken often and comfort could be easily maintained, in reality, work isn’t like that and the time taken to continually stand up and stretch isn’t available.

The Flexispot desk is great for someone like me who not only needs to work sitting down, but also prefers to stand. The desk gives you options and alternatives which bring far greater comfort from one piece of furniture than I thought possible. The desk has proved a hit with other members of the household, being height adjustable it is always just the right height for the different members of the family.

It’s as simple as pressing one button to adjust the height of the desk to your preferences. A little bonus is that the desk comes with a built in wireless charger for your phones and tablets.

This is an easy problem to solve with a desk lamp. Ideally, this should be an LED type which doesn’t produce anywhere as much heat as other types of lighting and is economical to run.

Choose either a lamp with a base, or choose a lamp with a clip that can be fixed to the edge of your desk. Often LED lamps will accept either a warm white or cool white bulb. I found the cool white better for reading and using a laptop, but this is a personal choice so obviously try both and choose the one that works best for you.

Safe And Secure

One aspect that an office tends to provide, that a home does not, is security and privacy for your work documents and projects. With others in the home, both children and adults it is easy for paperwork to get moved or displaced. This is especially true with a Flexispot desk as it lends itself so well to use by a number of different users. So investing in suitable storage for your work documentation is a great idea.

Space will dictate if this is to be a piece of furniture like a filing cabinet or a smaller folder or wallet. Either option works well and critically gives you the ability to tidy your documentation away knowing it will be untouched until you next require
